At the beginning of the 70’s, under the direction of
Gustavo Bounous, MD, (FRCSC), a team of
researchers from the Faculty of Medicine at McGill
University (Canada), was studying proteins of
animal and vegetable origins in order to feed the
patients with an elemental diet that would allow
them to reduce their stay in hospital. Since 1978,
their studies had been focusing on whey proteins.

Medicare, the U.S. federal health insurance program for people age 65 and over, people under age 65
with certain disabilities, and people of all ages with End Stage Renal Disease, in all 50 states has
determined that Immunocal is eligible for coverage and reimbursement when certain requirements are
met. Medicare covers Immunocal when it is prescribed for tube feeding only and pays for no more than
one month’s supply of nutrients at a time. Complete coverage requirements are explained in the
Medicare National Coverage Determinations Manual, Chapter 1 and the Medicare Benefit Policy
Manual, Chapter 15.

Many disease states are characterized by low glutathione levels. Immunocal has
been developed as a strategy to help sustain glutathione levels. Glutathione
deficiency states include, but are not limited to: AIDS and cancer muscle wasting,
chemical and infectious hepatitis, radiation poisoning, malnutrition states, strong
physical stress, and acetaminophen toxicity. Many other problems including
cardiovascular, lung, digestive and kidney disorders are associated with
glutathione deficiency and are cited in numerous medical references.

IMMUNOCAL® is a U.S. patented natural food protein concentrate in the FDA category of GRAS (generally recognized as safe) which assists the body in maintaining optimal concentrations of glutathione (GSH) by supplying the precursors required for intracellular glutathione synthesis. It is clinically proven to raise glutathione values.
Glutathione is a tripeptide made intracellularly from its constituent amino acids L-glutamate, L-cysteine and glycine. The sulfhydryl (thiol) group (SH) of cysteine is responsible for the biological activity of glutathione. Provision of this amino acid is the rate-limiting factor in glutathione synthesis by the cells since bioavailable cysteine is relatively rare in foodstuffs.

Glutathione (GSH) is the body’s own health ‘AID to Energy’– Antioxidant,
Immune Booster, Detoxifier and Energy enhancer. This small protein, produced
naturally in the body, supports these four crucial functions. In fact, your life
depends upon glutathione. Without it, your cells would disintegrate from
unrestrained oxidation, your body would have little resistance to bacteria, viruses
and cancer, and your liver would cease functioning from the accumulation of
toxins.

Immunocal is an all-natural non-prescription health product available worldwide.
This special protein holds many national and international patents (> 65) and is
medically recognized in the Physicians’ Desk Reference (“PDR” U.S.A.) and
Compendium of Pharmaceutical Specialties (“CPS” Canada). It has undergone
over 30 years of research (> 35 clinical studies) and has been taken safely and
effectively by millions of individuals.

What Everyone Should Know About Sports Physiology!
To replicate in sufficient numbers the T-cells need
GLUTATHIONE (GSH). The body manufactures
Glutathione to feed the immune system. When
working out, training or competing athletically the
immune system is often overwhelmed.

Immunotec Inc. (TSX-V: IMM) announced today the completion of an open-label clinical trial on the use of a cysteinerich
protein isolate in children with autism. This preliminary study showed the majority of autistic children were easily
able to consume non-denatured whey protein isolate (Immunocal®) without adverse effects. The promising results will
allow further studies to proceed to demonstrate the benefits of augmented glutathione levels in children with autism.

Immunotec Inc. (TSX-V: IMM) announced today the successful completion of a multi-center randomized, double-blind
clinical trial on cancer-related weight loss (cachexia) in lung cancer patients which was performed in collaboration with
various Canadian clinical centers*. The research concluded that patients treated with IMN 1207 showed significant
increases in body weight (Tozer et al. Antioxidants & Redox Signaling (2008) 10:395-402). Immunotec also
announced the initiation of a follow-up study to confirm the positive results.

Immunocal has been tested as part of ConsumerLab.com’s Athletic Banned Substance Screening
Program which screens for over 170 substances (including metabolites) based on the 2007 World
Anti-Doping Code Prohibited List and has been certified free of any prohibited substances. The
screening includes testing for stimulants, narcotics, anabolic agents, diuretics, masking agents and
beta blockers based on the Olympic Movement Anti-Doping Code or the codes of other sports
organizations.

Immunotec Inc. (TSX-V IMM) congratulates Dr. Luc Montagnier for winning the 2008 Nobel Prize in
Medicine for his 1984 discovery, with Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, of the human immunodeficiency virus
(HIV). Drs. Montagnier and Barré-Sinoussi first understood that HIV “impaired the immune system
because of massive virus replication and cell damage to lymphocytes.” Their seminal work set the stage
for understanding of the biology of the disease and current modalities of treatment. In addition, it led to
development of methods of diagnosis and blood screening that has mitigated the spread of the disease.

In 1994, Montagnier drew attention to the promising effects of Immunotec’s cornerstone product,
Immunocal®, a proven precursor of the major cellular antioxidant glutathione, in his opening address at
the 10th International AIDS Conference in Yokohama, Japan. The anti-HIV and anti-apoptotic activity of
Immunocal and its relation with GSH synthesis were further discussed in a presentation at the same
conference.

No other antioxidant is as important to overall health
as glutathione. It is the regenerator of immune cells and
the most valuable detoxifying agent in the body. Low
levels are associated with early aging and even death.

Recent findings in tissue from multiple sclerosis victims corroborate the mechanisms
documented in a growing body of research based evidence as to the steps leading to disease
expression. “Observed depletion of GSH, elevation of ceramide level and apoptosis in banked
human brains from patients with neuroinflammatory diseases (e.g. x-adrenoleukodystrophy
and multiple sclerosis) suggest that the intracellular level of GSH may play a crucial role in
the regulation of cytokine-induced generation of ceramide leading to apoptosis of brain cells
in these diseases.”

supplementation with a cysteine donor on muscular performance.
J. Appl. Physiol. 87(4): 1381–1385, 1999.—Oxidative

on cysteine availability.

AIDS, and Neurodegenerative Diseases” where a complete chapter is devoted to Immunocal® and where it states that:
“Glutathione is of major significance in cellular antioxidant activity, and that Immunocal functioning as a cysteine
delivery system can enhance glutathione synthesis…”
